Michelle Sacks
Chief Executive, Huntingdonshire District CouncilMichelle Sacks is Chief Executive of Huntingdonshire District Council, having commenced this role in September 2023 with a very clear direction to provide governance support and leadership to the Council; supporting the Joint Administration on the next stage of their journey, whilst raising the profile of Huntingdonshire on a national stage to deliver the wider ambitions set out in the Huntingdonshire Futures Strategy. Her partnership working and collaboration is well-regarded and she is recognised as being a Place Leader.
Her previous roles incorporated responsibility for growth and inward investment and creating an environment within the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (Boston BC, East Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council) as the place to come and do business. She works closely with stakeholders to understand their priorities and with politicians to take their ideas to inform delivery of corporate priorities.
Having operated as a Monitoring Officer and Solicitor to the Council for 20 years in a variety of councils and political environments, Michelle brings a pragmatic, problem solving approach to governance, creating the right cultures to support innovation and the experience of wider stakeholder engagement.
She has an in-depth understanding of wider organisational and political environments and is recognised for her integrity in managing colleagues' behaviours and expectations in complex and sensitive circumstances. She also has a clear understanding of the impact that culture within teams can have on service delivery and customer service and has significant experience of people and change management.
